Good news! The Lake Land College Library is now in Canvas!
Sarah Hill created a Canvas module that consists of 4 Canvas pages:
- Front Page of Module: College Success: How to Use the Library
- Lesson 1: Introduction to the Library Website & Summon (also includes Journals A to Z and the MLA & APA Help page)
- Lesson 2: Dive into Specific Databases (Gale Ebooks, ProQuest One Academic, Opposing Viewpoints and more)
- Lesson 3: Search the SHARE Catalog to find print books, DVDs and more (includes how to get a library card)
As an instructor, you can very easily add this module into your online Canvas Course. How?
- In Canvas, click on the Commons link.
- Search for Welcome to the Lake Land College Library.
- Select the title to view the content.
- On the next page you can preview the content before importing. (Feel free to star/favorite the module so you can import it directly from the module page in a course next time)
- Click on the Import/Download button.
- Select the course(s) you would like to import the module into and click Import into Course. It may take a few minutes to import the content. Please note the module will import at the bottom of the module list. Click the module options (3 dots) menu and select Move Module to move the module to another location.
The plan is to add lessons to this module so that you all can pick and choose what lessons you need in your courses. Also, the lessons will be updated over time when databases and the library website change, so you can always import the newest resource from the Commons.
If you would like to view some Canvas tutorials about any of these topics, see below. And, as always, ask Sue Nugent for more detailed help about any Canvas feature!
