With a library card, patrons can check out library materials, and also use the Libby and Cloud Library apps to check out ebooks, e-magazines, and e-audiobooks. A library card doesn't allow access to online databases--those are only available to current staff and students using their Laker ID.

Fines & Lost/Damaged Materials
The library does not charge late fines. However, the cost of replacement or repair of any lost or damaged material will be borne by the cardholder under whose name the materials were checked out. Patrons who have lost items on their account over $10 cannot check out additional items, register for classes, or order transcripts until the items are paid for or replaced.
Our library does NOT participate in reciprocal borrowing because we are an academic library. In Illinois, reciprocal borrowing means the right of a person who holds a valid, in-good-standing library registration card from a full member public library to borrow materials on site from other library system full member public libraries under the same conditions that the library that provides those materials to its patrons.
However, eligible library materials may be interlibrary loaned to patrons through IHLS and OCLC. Community members may access databases at the public access computers in the library.
