Lake Land College supports the William and Flora Hewlett’s Foundation definition of Open Education Resources (OERs) as “teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions.”
William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. (2018). Open educational resources. Retrieved from https://www.hewlett.org/programs/education/open-educational-resources
Lake Land College also supports the usage of high quality teaching, learning, and research resources that are available to students and instructors. These instructional materials could be textbooks, internet resources, library resources, and self-created materials, as well as other learning resources that aren’t OERs, yet are still engaging and appropriate for classroom use.
