Getting Started

How To Install Grammarly

  1. Use the installation link that Grammarly sends to your Laker email address. Follow the directions to create an account with your Laker credentials and install Grammarly in Windows and your browser. Once your account is created, you can also install Grammarly on personal devices.
  2. If you can't find the Grammarly email, go to grammarly.com, click Login and then Create an Account with your Laker email address.
  3. Follow the steps. You may have to click Join my School, Continue, or Activate Grammarly after downloading.
  4. Do you have the green Grammarly app on your desktop? Then, you already have Grammarly installed. Visit Getting Started with Grammarly to learn more. Grammarly's website has even more Tips and Tricks.

Why Grammarly?

Grammarly is a third-party, automated grammar, proofreading, and writing revision tool for academic writingGrammarly is a learning tool that works one-on-one with a student to develop writing skills, reinforce proper revision habits, and prevent plagiarism. It will not fix your writing for you; it is up to you to incorporate Grammarly's feedback and decide what suggestions are most appropriate.

The Fall 2024 Academic Services AI Task Force recommended to Cabinet the purchase of Grammarly EDU, a trusted AI tool for enhancing communication and productivity, relied on by more than 40 million people. It equitable access to "writing assistance, supporting students in developing essential writing and critical thinking skills that are vital for students' future success."
