Citation Help

Help students learn about MLA and APA style. Includes videos about formatting papers in MS Word, handouts to give to students, and the basics of citations in the newest formats.  Also includes information about in-text citations in both formats. 

Library Tutorial

Do you know the steps of the research process? Find out what they are and how narrowing your topic and brainstorming ideas can lead to a better research project. Get helpful hints about searching online, using the library online catalog to search for books and other items, and using the library's online databases. Also contains information about evaluating sources using the CRAPP method and how to prevent plagiarism. 

Welcome Dual Credit Students and Instructors!

Dual credit students and instructors have access to all Lake Land College library resources. 

To access the library's databases, you will need your Laker Hub login information. Dual credit instructors can distribute students' Laker Hub IDs by looking at their roster.  The Laker Hub ID is the first part of the student's email address, before the @ symbol.  The password should be the birthday of the student, in the format mmddyy.  If you need help, try the help page located here.

ACT/SAT/AP Test Help

To access Lake Land College Library’s ACT/SAT/AP resources:

1. Go to www.lakelandcollege.edu and click on Library under Academics.

2. Click on Databases.

3. Click on the tab Careers/Test Prep.

4. Click on LearningExpressLibrary. From off-campus, students will need to log in with their IRIS ID and password. Under All Centers, click on College Preparation Center. Students can prepare for the ACT, SAT , PSAT, or AP tests. If they click on ACT, there are 3 options listed on the left—ACT Test Prep Tutorial, ACT Practice Tests, and eBooks. First time users will need to click on Register.
