The Lake Land College Library has a collection of resources that cover many career fields. These include books, ebooks, databases, and other online resources to help you explore the working world. 

 

Online Databases

Learning Express Library from EBSCO Learning

This platform features school and occupational test prep tools, as well as career prep tools to discover and learn about a broad range of fields.  

 

Mometrix is one of the premier test preparation databases. It contains practice materials for many academic and professional tests that are required for entrance or licensure. 

 

Career Coach is an interactive career information tool that makes it easy to research and choose an academic program or career.

Career & Employment Information on the internet

 

Many employment websites base their content on information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. You have free access to this same information and can browse it yourself! This is the number one online resource for finding job information! 

 

CareerOneStop is the flagship career, training, and job search website for the U.S. Department of Labor. The website serves job seekers, businesses, students, and career advisors with a variety of free online tools, information and resources.

 

My Next Move is an interactive tool for job seekers and students to learn more about their career options. My Next Move has tasks, skills, salary information, and more for over 900 different careers. Users can find careers through keyword search; by browsing industries that employ different types of workers; or through the O*NET Interest Profiler, a tool that offers personalized career suggestions based on a person's interests and level of work experience.
