UpToDate is an evidence-based clinical decision support resource. It includes many features including information packaged specifically for sharing with patients.
Open Access Resources
Open access resources are those that are available to anyone with an internet connection. Academic libraries spend a lot of time evaluating these resources so users can be sure they are accessing quality information from trusted sources.
The PubMed (from the National Library of Medicine) database contains more than 30 million citations and abstracts of biomedical literature including dental information.
CDC Oral Health
CDC’s Division of Oral Health (DOH) provides leadership to improve the nation’s oral health. We promote proven interventions, such as community water fluoridation and dental sealants, to reduce the rate of cavities, especially for populations at highest risk. DOH supports state, territorial, and tribal oral health programs, collects surveillance data on oral diseases, and develops and promotes adherence to infection prevention and control guidelines for dental health care personnel. The division supports integration of medical and dental care to address other chronic diseases associated with poor oral health. DOH also has a residency training program to help strengthen the dental public health workforce.
Health Resources and Services Administration
HRSA programs provide equitable health care to people who are geographically isolated and economically or medically vulnerable. This includes programs that deliver health services to people with HIV, pregnant people, mothers and their families, those with low incomes, residents of rural areas, American Indians and Alaska Natives, and those otherwise unable to access high-quality health care.
International Association for Disability and Oral Health
iADH are an international network of people who are concerned about those with disabilities and disadvantages, working together with those in their community, professional society and social or service organization to improve the oral health and quality of life for persons with special needs.
